Billy Graham was truly a man of God. His love of God was shown in his messages and life. I watched Billy Graham Crusades on TV and unfortunately never got to go to a live crusade. His love of God, family, country, and people in general was truly inspirational. Billy take rest in the arms of God.
Franklin, thank you for your touching tribute to your dad. I had a long talk with Ed Plowman today and heard stories of his time with your dad as they traveled together. As you know from our chats over the years, your dad and mine, also a minister and evangelical statesman, were friends long ago.
I was saved when I was 13 years old. I began watching Billy Graham Crusades soon after. I attended my first crusade at Texas Stadium in September 1971 when my son was 5 months old. I didn’t get to attend the next crusade until October 2002 when I took my 10 year old granddaughter to Texas Stadium.
I fondly remember attending a Billy Graham crusade when I was in my teens with my grandmother and the impact of his message that changed my life for eternity. Well done good and faithful servant, enter into the rest of the Lord!
My late father Lawrence E. Butts was a classmate with Billy Graham in 1940 at Florida Bible Institute. I still have the original graduation program with Billy’s signature in it. RIP, you will be missed!
