How sad for us to lose a wonderful messenger of God. But we rejoice that Billy is home with our Savior and with his wife Ruth. Thank you Billy for everything that you have done to make this world a more peaceful place to live with God’s grace blessing us all. My deepest condolences to the family.
I remember as a child attending one of Billy Graham’s Crusade events. I still remember what a powerful message he gave. For a number of years now I start every morning with a devotional from the Billy Graham site. A light has gone out from our world, but his legacy he left for Christ continues.
This world has lost a good man and servant of the Lord.
Billy Graham has been a part of my entire life, and I am 56 years old. My father, Terry Bottenfield, was changed because of a Billy Graham Crusade in Minnesota. He was working as a helper setting up the tent, heard the message, and his life was changed forever! Mine too!
I knew about your ministry early on by how he influenced on DCTalk. Now I participate as volunteer for Samaritan’s Purse, which is part of his legacy. I am honored by the impact of his life as it continues with the Graham generation. God bless you all. We will see him in heaven!
I awoke on Wednesday to the news of Rev. Graham’s death. I was immediately filled with sadness and great joy. I am sad to live in a world without his presence, but joyful that he is home now. He has received his reward and heard the words, “Well done, good and faithful servant!”
I praise God I had the great opportunity to work in Franklin Graham’s Crusade when he came to Charleston, WV. That’s where I met Dr. Graham. I have not been the same after meeting him. This is my condolence. Psalm 116:15: “Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his saints.”
My first visit with Dr. Graham was as college student around 1960 when he was invited to speak at the Billy Sunday Tabernacle in Winona Lake, Indiana. I recorded his message for my father. I’ve often wished I still had that recording. It was a wonderful blessing to meet him in person.
As a child I watched Pastor Graham’s various Crusades. I think we watched them every night. Although far away in the mountains of West Virginia, he made me feel as if he was talking only to me. I treasure those memories. May his family be comforted by the knowledge of his impact over the entire world. Hugs and prayers.
My life has been shaped sitting on the couch of my parents’ home watching the many Crusades broadcast that Rev. Graham held. I thank God for this man and I thank God for his influence. One day I will see my Lord and get to meet Rev. Graham in heaven. A true modern day prophet in my time.
