1957 is the year I started observing Billy on B&W TV. My attraction to him grew over the years until in my older years I’ve read much about him and watched him on TBN. He has helped me greatly in my walk with Jesus. I feel even closer to him as my pastor, Chuck Smith, and he were good friends.
I came to Christ after reading Billy Graham’s book “How To Be Born Again.” He changed my life.
I met Billy Graham at Lowry Air Force Base in Denver in the early 1950s. At that time I accepted the Lord as my savior. Have watched most of his televised crusades.
To the family of Dr. Billy Graham, I wanted to pass on my deepest sympathy on your great loss of a beloved father and grandfather. I came to accept Christ as Saviour through the preaching of your father in the 1959 Crusade meetings held in Australia. He holds a very special place in my heart. God bless you.
Growing up as a little girl my aunt who didn’t have a TV came to our home every night a crusade was broadcast. I always thought if she did that I needed to watch too. I had already become a Christian and this reinforced what I believed about Jesus and the Bible.
His ministry impacted my life. I accepted Christ at 12 watching a TV crusade. Later I met Anne at Burton’s. Her countenance & spirit impacted me too. I saw both her earthly and heavenly Father in her life. Condolences to the family. Thank you all for your witness & commitment to our savior Christ.
As a young military officer’s bride, alone at home while he was away serving our country, I rededicated my life to Christ as I watched a Billy Graham crusade and my life has never been the same. I was blessed to give back by serving as a choir member & counselor in two of Dr. Graham’s Sacramento crusades.
Dr. Billy Graham was a true inspiration to me, showing us how Jesus wants us to live. I was privileged to attend his last Crusade in New York, and to have visited the Billy Graham Library. His books have guided me, as have his sermons still on TV. What a great man of God. Prayers for his family.
Rev. Graham spoke in San Diego 73 years ago, when I was 17. His message: one person makes a difference. All lights were extinguished. He lit a match, seen by hundreds. Together, we make an impact. Then, all lights were lit; the blazing lights were spectacular. Point made.
I gave my life as to Jesus as a young teen in a movie theater in Mt. Lebanon, PA, after watching the Billy Graham movie, “Time to Run.” Later when I was at Pittsburgh Seminary, I attended a Billy Graham crusade in Pittsburgh and had my picture taken with him! It is a treasure in my church office!
