Growing up, every Crusade was watched in our home. My father, Fred Balliet, went to the Billy Graham crusade in New York. He would talk about it. As he got older he watched that particular crusade on the reruns, he was so excited. My sister and I sang in PA at a crusade with YFC. Good memories.
There are many converts from the Melbourne 1959 meetings who, in turn, led others to Christ. I was part of the flow-on effect. The videos of “Billy Graham Classics” on Christian TV have have more flow-on effects. I have a few that I share. All Christians in Australia have loved Billy Graham.
I grew up in Charlotte. My mother and my aunt would take my cousin and me to the Billy Graham crusades held at the Armory. I remember going forward to give my life to Christ, as George Beverly Shea sang “How Great Thou Art.” What a beautiful memory.
As a college student I attended a Crusade in Minneapolis. There I heard I could know for sure that I was saved for all eternity. My husband and I just finished our 34th year as missionaries to Africa.
My husband was an agnostic when we married in 1996. I lived my faith and he eventually came to accept Jesus as his savior. We saw Billy Graham together in Oklahoma City and it meant the world to me that we were seeing him together as believers! God bless you Billy Graham!
I love him and all of his messages. I never miss an opportunity to watch the reruns of the olden ministries shows. His teachings will always remain in my heart. He was the greatest teacher of God’s word that ever lived. Love him and miss him.
I grew up on Billy Graham crusades and movies. Lincoln, Illinois Christian College bussed all of the Church Growth and Missions majors to the Billy Graham School of Evangelism & Crusade in St Louis I believe in 1974. I also sang in the choir and was a counselor! Precious memories!
I was 14 years old when I attended a Billy Graham meeting in Grand Rapids, Michigan (over 70 years ago). Through Billy Graham’s message, I dedicated my life to the LORD. Four years later I entered Moody Bible Institute. He will be sadly missed here, but blessed where he now is.
I’m so grateful to the Lord for Billy Graham. As a young adult I was always drawn to his events aired on TV in the late 1970s. Then, as a new believer, I worked with the team during the Hartford, CT event in 1982. To see my young nephews & sister respond to the invitation during that event – pure joy!
Billy Graham greatly impacted my life more than any other Christian Leader. I attended the Crusade in SC in the 1980s & sang in the choir for the Atlanta Crusade prior to the Olympics in 1996. I cherish the Christmas cards from Rev. Graham and Ruth. America has lost a great man who loved the Lord.
