My father took me to see my first Billy Graham revival in North Carolina in 1978, and I also saw him before I went to Iraq in 1990. My mother took me to see him as she was the biggest supporter of Billy Graham. I prayed the prayer that Billy always said at the end of the night. It changed my life.
In the hot summer of 1967, I was nearly eight years old waiting for Grandma to tune in the only station that the ol’ black and white would pick up, and a B.G. Crusade was on. I was headed for the screen door, but Grandma had spirit in her switch and many years to come we watched together, the Billy Graham Crusades.
The impact that Billy Graham has made on my life: I can still hear his voice ringing in my ears so much of the time: “The Bible says!” He was a man of God, a true man of the Bible, the everlasting Word of God! He believed it and also lived it! A great inspiration to all mankind! Thanks Jesus!
In 1956 my church had a bus to pick us up to go to Billy’s Crusade in Richmond, Virginia. We went all week. Afterwards, I started a Bible group at my school. Today, that is not allowed. We need to pray for freedom of religion.
Your parents were people you can be proud of! We watch your Mr. Graham videos every night! They will be missed deeply by the world!
Married just a month to Earl who was finishing his last 24 hours as an MP on a base in Miami, Florida, July 1969. I watched a Billy Graham Crusade share Christ before I went to sleep. But I was raped by a neighbor who planned to kill me. God saved my life and restored my heart years later. A miracle!
I have always loved his messages. This one hits home because I never knew my father. He contracted TB when I was not yet 2. My 3-year-old brother and I were sent to Grandma’s ‘for the duration.’ He died the day after my 4th birthday, and I’ve always missed that relationship.
I watched as many of Dr. Graham’s sermons as possible. I was so blessed by the simplicity of his message – God loves us and wants to save us. I would have loved to have spent one hour with Dr. Graham. It would have been the greatest of privileges just to sit and listen to him.
When I was 17 I went to a Youth for Christ meeting and was saved by Billy Graham as he made his call to the altar and I have not looked back since. God and I have been through a lot together and He is still looking after me now that I am older. I loved Billy Graham’s preaching.
Love and respected the family for many years.
