When he had his series of sermons at the Los Angeles Colosseum in 1963 I went every night. I had never heard preaching like that!
I watched a crusade while I was working in Mississippi and I was so moved by Mr. Graham I fell on my knees and had a wonderful talk with my Lord Jesus Christ. I will never forget Mr. Graham!
I accepted Christ through one of Billy’s visits in San Diego. I became a flight attendant in 1980, flew out of MSP. Full circle I met Billy flying on a flight to Rochester MN and visiting Ruthie at the Mayo Clinic. (She fell out of a tree chasing her grandkids.) Wonderful, fun, down to Earth disciples.
My husband went to Miami U. and the Inter-Varsity group went to hear Billy Graham at the Indy Coliseum. Although he knew Christ was his Savior, he committed his life in a deeper way to Jesus. This is so joyful, because later when we met, we were in a committed life together when we were married.
His powerful preaching gift really gave me something to pray about and remember that Christ is the only one that can set us free from the penalty of sin! The truth is in Jesus alone, and Billy Graham sure did go out there to do that exact thing; he has brought me closer to God and I’m proud of him.
My whole life Billy Graham was a part of my Christian heritage. I watched him with presidents & his evangelist specials on TV. He stayed on a true & narrow path of Christianity. He was a special person!!
Necesito más de Dios que debo hacer.
The name Billy Graham has been a household word in our church and home since the early 50s. It is sad that he has passed away, but wonderful knowing that he anticipated being home with God and Jesus. I learned about salvation and being “born again” when I was a kid at one of his tent meetings.
Dr. Billy Graham came to Portland, Oregon 1992. He touched my life, opened my eyes and heart to the need of Jesus Christ in our lives. I was blessed to have been in the men’s choir. Through this experience I gave my life to Jesus and met Sandi Patty also.
In the 70s, when I was 8, I was with my family at a campground. People from the BGEA were speaking about Jesus and I listened intently, as I had surely heard of God and Jesus at the church I attended. They gave me the booklet, Steps to Peace With God, which I still have. I read it and treasured it!
